To push Kid Icarus: Uprising‘s multiplayer features, Nintendo of America has created Kid Icarus: Uprising Multiplayer Battle Day – a day for fans to hop online or meet up with others locally to play some multiplayer and swap weapon gems.

Nintendo has set up a page on meetup.com to help people organize their own get-togethers. The 20 groups with the most participants will get some special Kid Icarus: Uprising swag, including T-shirts and AR cards.

Since the March 23 launch of Kid Icarus: Uprising on the Nintendo 3DS system, legions of fans have experienced the game’s action-packed multiplayer features. To make it easier than ever for fans to come together, Nintendo of America has created a Multiplayer Battle Day Meetup Everywhere community that people can use to organize their own local Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer tournaments, meetups and social gatherings*.

Fans and Nintendo 3DS users are encouraged to get together and battle it out on Saturday, May 19, which has been designated as Kid Icarus: Uprising Multiplayer Battle Day. Using a broadband Internet connection or local wireless connection, players who own a Nintendo 3DS and Kid Icarus: Uprising can compete in the game’s frenetic multiplayer modes, whether battling it out in three-on-three Light Versus Dark mode or six-player Free-for-All mode. The 20 groups with the most participants will receive special Kid Icarus: Uprising premium items such as AR Card packs and T-shirts, while supplies last.

Meetup Everywhere is a simple-to-use online platform that enables followers to coordinate local, real-life meetups based on shared interests. Nintendo 3DS users who are interested in sharing Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer experiences, trading AR cards with others or exchanging in-game weapons using StreetPass are invited to visit http://www.meetup.com/nintendo3ds to find events in their area or to plan their own meetups.

Nintendo recently received approval for a patent outlining an “Operating knob for portable electronic computer” from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The patent depicts a ribbed circle pad with a texture similar to ones found on the N64 and GameCube analog sticks. The redesigned circle pad is shown on a 3DS in one of the images included with the patent, though it’s unclear what Nintendo actually plans to do with the patent, if anything at all.

Next month, Australia will get to conquer Japan… with pokémon.

The turn-based SRPG Pokémon Conquest will be coming to the land down under on June 21, only three days after the game’s North American release.

A European release for the Pokémon x Nobunaga’s Ambition crossover has yet to be announced.

Rayman Origins is the latest game to a get a demo in the eShop. Even the most stubborn Rayman hater would be hard-pressed to not find the limbless wonder’s latest platformer incredibly charming.

The official site for the Lost Planet spin-off EX Troopers is up and the first trailer for the PS3 version of the game is out.

Can you spot the ties to Lost Planet? Yeah, neither can I. If anything, the game looks like it has more in common with Phantasy Star Online.

Do you like Pokémon? Do you like anime? Do you like excessive, wailing guitar riffs? What? Not that last one? Well, too bad! The Pokémon Company crammed all of those things into this special promotional video for Pokémon Black and White 2!

As cool as it would be to have these clips used as in-game cutscenes, don’t get your hopes up. They were only meant to build hype for the games. They won’t actually be included.

Capcom is working on E.X. Troopers, a 3DS/PS3 spin-off of the Lost Planet series.

One of the biggest changes is the game’s visual style. Instead of the realistic look of the Lost Planet games, E.X. Troopers will sport an anime-like appearance. Cutscenes will be presented in a comic book-like fashion similar to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Details on the game’s story haven’t been revealed, but it appears that the game takes place in a school setting.

I guess Square Enix really wants you to know what Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] is all about because they’ve put out a nearly 10-minute long trailer featuring gameplay footage, several cutscenes and a song they’ve been using for more than 7 years.

I guess they also want more of your money as well since they’ve announced the Mark of Mastery Edition bundle.

The $55 bundle comes in a Kingdom Hearts-branded magnetic box and comes packed with:

• A copy of Kingdom Hearts 3D
• A set of five Dream Eater AR cards
• A set of 12 cards featuring art from the series
• A Kingdom Hearts-themed 3DS case

Well, that was a bit disappointing, but I can’t say I didn’t see it coming.

It turns out that the Club Nintendo reward Nintendo was counting down to last week was the 18-card game case.

Considering the case sold out pretty quickly in its initial run, it’d probably be wise to pick it up if you have a bunch a games you need to carry and 250 Coins to burn.

Say goodbye to jerks cheating their way across Maka Wuhu!

Nintendo has released the version 1.1 patch for Mario Kart 7 in the eShop. The patch fixes the infamous Maka Wuhu exploit, along with shortcuts on Wuhu Loop and GBA Bowser Castle 1. It is a required download if you plan on racing others online.

A new system update is also out today. It doesn’t appear to change much aside from some accessibility options for parental controls, but it’s practically a necessary download since you won’t be allowed in the eShop without it.
