“Again” Gameplay Footage
One of the more understated things I love about this generation of gaming is the resurgance of text-heavy adventure titles, especially on the DS. Some of my favorite experiences with the dual-screened handheld have been in the Phoenix Wright series, but the titles crafted by CING are definitely not slouches.
Again (formerly Again: Eye of Providence) is the latest title from the developers of Trace Memory/Another Code. This DS adventure uses a lot of the mechanics used in CING’s previous game, Hotel Dusk: playing the DS vertically, limited animation character profiles, and suspenseful dialogue mixed with some clever puzzles.
The second half of the above video is tucked away after the jump. It gives a good look at how the protagonist Jonathan Weaver’s ability to view the past works into puzzle solving and progressing further into the story.

Mario’s return to his side-scrolling roots on the Wii is a big hit in Japan, where nearly one million people came out to buy the game in its first week.
Famitsu publisher Enterbrain released their latest sales numbers, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii sold 936,734 units during its first week. However, that is a little misleading as the period Enterbrain reported on is actually only four days, since NSMB Wii came out on a Thursday.
Needless to say, it’s an impressive launch. In fact, it’s the most successful launch on the Wii since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which sold 816,000 units in its launch week.
It’s not hard to imagine that the game may already be a million seller by now.

This Street Fighter IV scarf was knitted by peeloutyourface as a Christmas present for her boyfriend. There are plenty of neat little touches like the life bars representing fights between the characters on opposite sides of the scarf.
The only thing that irks me about it is one of the pairings. Shouldn’t Ryu be fighting Sagat instead?
More pics of the scarf – including work-in-progress versions – can be found at peeloutyourface’s forum post on craftster.org.
