Devil Survivor 2’s Pre-Order Numbers Won’t Be In Until Monday

August 31st, 2013 | Category: Uncategorized

Devil Survivor 2 01

The fate of Devil Survivor 2 in Europe will have to wait until Monday to be decided.

Pre-orders are now closed, but the final tally won’t be calculated until the staff at Ghostlight gets back after the weekend.

The publisher was still quite a bit short of their 1,800 unit quota leading into the final day. It would be a real shame if Europe didn’t get to enjoy one of the finest SRPGs to grace the DS.

August 30th, 2013 | Category: Uncategorized

Devil Survivor 2 EU

Today is the last day to pre-order Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 and help ensure the game sees release in Europe.

Publisher Ghostlight needs to get at least 1,800 pre-orders to break even. If they fail, everyone that put money down will receive a full refund and Ghostlight will scrap the launch.

The company has yet to reach their goal. The exact number of units needed has not been revealed, but according to the publisher’s Twitter, it’s “quite a few.”

Pre-orders are available in two flavors: A £24.99/€29.99 standalone version and a £49.98/€59.98 bundle with Devil Survivor Overclocked.

Nintendo Stocks See Biggest Drop in Japan Since May Following 2DS Announcement

August 30th, 2013 | Category: Uncategorized

The gaming community may be befuddled by Nintendo’s announcement of the 2DS, but Tokyo’s stock market made it clear that they are not pleased with the company’s recent decisions.

Nintendo’s stocks dropped 6.1 percent, its biggest decrease since May 23, to close the day at ¥11,120 ($113.21).

While Nintendo also announced a $50 price cut for the Wii U, it shouldn’t have an effect on the company’s stock in Japan since the company won’t lower the system’s price in Japan.

eShop Thursday: “Jigglypuff Seen From Above” Edition

August 29th, 2013 | Category: Uncategorized

Jigglypuff Above

I’d love to think of a legitimate reason to use this picture. I really would, but the best I could come up with was the fact that Pokémon Rumble U comes out today and most of the pokémon in that game kind of look like a Jigglypuff when you look at them from above.

You also have The Legend of Zelda NES on the Wii U, Wario Land 3 on the 3DS and BIT.TRIP SAGA going on sale for $5 starting Sunday.

Capcom is well aware of the disappointment felt by fans over the confirmation that Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies will not be getting a physical release.

To help take away some of the sting, the developer has announced that the game will not launch for the normal retail price of $40. Instead, it will go on sale in the eShop for $29.99/€24.99 this fall.

Wii U Won’t Get An Ambassador Program

August 29th, 2013 | Category: Uncategorized

Ambassador Certificate

Nintendo created the Ambassador Program as a gesture of good will to early 3DS adopters who may have felt cheated by the handheld’s early price drop.

Anyone who bought the handheld before the new price took effect received 10 GBA and 10 NES games for free.

With Nintendo knocking $50 off the Wii U’s price, many are wondering if the company will do something similar with the console.

Unfortunately, it looks like the answer is no, according to a customer service reply from the company.

Thank you for taking the time to write with your questions regarding a Wii U Ambassador program. The Ambassador program is only available to any Nintendo 3DS owner who purchased their system before August 12, 2011 and there are no plans for a similar program for Wii U.

I know that this isn’t what you were hoping for, but we appreciate your support of our products now and in the future. I also want to assure you that your comments will be added to our records and made available for other departments at the company to use as they see fit.

Deluxe Wii U Getting $50 Price Drop

August 28th, 2013 | Category: Uncategorized

Wii U Black

It’s official: Nintendo is dropping the price of the 32 GB Wii U by $50. Beginning September 20, the Deluxe model will have a MSRP of $299.99.

The price drop flies in the face of what Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said earlier this month about price not being the issue behind the Wii U’s struggles.

Fortunately, there will be a steady stream of games coming this holiday season to help bolster the system’s sales, including:

  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD – September 20 (eShop) and October 4 (retail)
  • Wii Party U – October 25
  • Super Mario 3D World – November 22
  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze – December 6
  • Wii Fit U – Holiday season
  • Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games – Holiday season
  • Third-party titles: Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure (Sept. 24) and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (Fall) from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment; Skylanders SWAP Force (Oct. 13) and Call of Duty: Ghosts (Nov. 5) from Activision Publishing; Sonic Lost World (Oct. 22) from SEGA; and Rayman Legends (Sept. 3), Just Dance 2014 (Oct. 8), Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag (Oct. 29) and Watch_Dogs (Nov. 19) from Ubisoft.

Nintendo Unveils the 2DS

August 28th, 2013 | Category: Uncategorized

It may sound like a really late (or really early) April Fool’s joke, but the 2DS is a very real thing.

Coming into the 3DS family as Nintendo’s super-budget model, the $129.99 2DS is a wedge-shaped, single-speaker version of the 3DS that plays 3DS and DS games in 2D only.

According to Tiny Cartridge, the 2DS’ screen is actually one big touchscreen framed in a way that makes it look like two. But, because there’s a piece of plastic over the top half, only the bottom half is touchable.

The 2DS launches on October 12 and will come in two colors: Red and Blue. Soft carrying cases will also be available at launch for $12.99.
