Nintendo of America Makes Changes to Rusty in Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball

Nintendo’s no stranger to editing content for Western audiences, and it looks like the upcoming eShop free-to-play Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball will be the latest game to get some changes.

To most likely not offend people with what could be considered a Japanese caricature, Rusty, the in-game shop owner, has undergone several design changes. Above is Rusty(Top) and his Japanese counterpart Inuji (Bottom).

Rusty now has a longer face, bigger eyes, smaller nostrils, brown hair and doesn’t have buck teeth. Oddly enough, the person on the box behind him also received a couple of changes to his physical appearance.

Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball comes out this Thursday in North America.

Yoshi's New Island Club Nintendo Shirt

Yoshi’s New Island is pretty ugly. Fortunately, the T-shirt based on it isn’t, and for 800 Coins, you can pick one up on Club Nintendo.

The front features art of Yoshi throwing a Mega Eggdozer (which looks infinitely better than it does in-game), while the back has the Club Nintendo logo.

The shirts are only available in two sizes: Small and Large. Club Nintendo cautions you to choose wisely as they do not offer returns or exchanges.

Mario Golf: World Tour Adds Simultaneous Local Play

March 27th, 2014 | Category: Uncategorized

Mario Golf World Tour 00

One of the major gripes of playing golf games with others is having to wait to take your shot, but Mario Golf: World Tour looks to alleviate that by introducing simultaneous play. Now, everyone can play a round at the same time and at their own pace. To keep track of things, the game provides on-screen markers to show the locations of everyone in your group.

Local multiplayer doesn’t feature text or voice chat (not like it really needs it), but players can send emoticons to each other.

Players can compete with others around the world in online tournaments. Similar to communities in Mario Kart 7, players will be able to join up with others and play according to a specific set of rules, like realistic courses only or no items.

Mario Golf: World Tour comes out for the 3DS on May 2.
