Don’t expect very many differences between the PS3, 360, PC and Wii U versions of Assassin’s Creed III when it comes out next month.
ACIII creative director Alex Hutchinson has revealed that the game will, for the most part, be identical across all platforms.
“I’m super excited whenever we demo the Wii U,” Hutchinson said. “It is exactly the same game that’s on the other platforms. And I know that sounds ridiculous, but it’s been a long time since I’ve shipped a game on more than three platforms where you could say it’s all the same. It’s not like some radically diminished version, so that’s exciting.”
There will be one major difference with the Wii U version, however, and that is the implementation of the Wii U GamePad. The tablet controller will be used to display a mini-map and serve as a quick select for Connor’s weapons.
Assassin’s Creed III comes out for the PS3, 360 and PC on October 30. The Wii U version will be out in time for the Wii U’s launch on November 18.
