Miyamoto: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Needs to Sell 2 Million Copies to be Profitable

Category: Uncategorized

Nintendo has invested a lot into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game has been in development for more than five years and has a team of more than 100 people working on it, with at least 300 people listed in its credits. In order for the game to be profitable, it needs to sell at least 2 million copies worldwide. This is according to what Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto told investors at a Q&A meeting yesterday.

All the work being put into Breath of the Wild will also be beneficial to future titles. General Manager of Nintendo’s Entertainment Planning & Development division Shinya Takahashi added that the company can use resources from Zelda for other titles, which can help reduce development times.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is scheduled to launch next year for the Wii U and NX.
