Pokemon GO Team Leaders

When Pokémon GO first launched, the art for the leaders of the game’s three factions were not yet complete and represented only by silhouettes. However, during their panel yesterday at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, developer Niantic gave everyone their first look at Candela, Blanche and Spark.

Company CEO John Hanke confirmed that these characters will be developed more and become more involved with the game as it goes on.

Also during the panel, Hanke restated many of the additions planned for future updates. Implementing pokémon trading is one of their top priorities outside of bringing the game to more countries. Niantic also plans to steadily introduce Legendary Pokémon and pokémon from later generations as updates continue to roll out over the course of the game’s development.

Pokémon Centers will be coming in the future. However, the developers did not specify what their function would be or how they would work. They also confirmed that PokéStops will receive changes soon that will add customization options to encourage players to visit different locations.

During their panel, Niantic acknowledged one of the rumors surrounding the game. By renaming an Eevee “Rainer,” “Sparky” or “Pyro,” before evolving it, you can influence whether it evolves into a Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon. These names are a direct reference to the Eevee brothers from the Pokémon anime.
