So now that the show’s finally over, the arduous task of uploading the butt-ton of 3DS images can begin.

A preliminary fact sheet on the 3DS has gone up, detailing some of the hardware specs (no processor info, sadly). Aside from all the neat features outlined in the media briefing, we now know that the 3DS is backwards compatible with older DS games and that the 3DS cards will be able to hold a whopping 2GB of data! Yes, 2 Gigabytes. That’s more than the GameCube’s discs were capable of holding!

According to the specs, when closed, the 3DS is roughly the same size as the DSi. The only difference between the two’s dimensions are thickness, with the 3DS being the larger.

Other details not mentioned during today’s show:

  • The 3DS will have a telescoping stylus (4″ when extended).
  • SD card slot.
  • IEEE 802.11 and WPA/WPA2 support.
  • The top screen has a 800×240 resolution (with 400 pixels devoted to each eye to create the 3D effect).
  • The touch screen’s resolution has been bumped up to 320×240 (compared to the DSi’s 256×192).
  • All three cameras has a resolution of 640×480.
  • A Home button “to call system function”.

Hit the jump for all the 3DS media I could download (before Nintendo’s media site borked), or for even more images and video head over to Nintendo’s E3 site, here.
