Trauma Team – “Six Specialties”

Atlus’ newest game in the Trauma Center series is stepping out of the E.R. and trying its hand at other medical fields. The latest featurette on Trauma Team details the new procedures you’ll be performing.
Surgery is relatively unchanged from previous Trauma Center games; however, players now no longer have to worry about completing operations before time expires. Instead, the faster-paced gameplay from earlier games lives on in the paramedic/first response sections. The point of this mode is to constantly monitor different patients and keep them alive long enough to reach the hospital.
The forensics and diagnostics segments require players to use their head. In forensics, players need to investigate crime scenes and study evidence in order to find out victim’s causes of death. Diagnostics play out in a more Phoenix Wright-esque fashion. Keen deduction and carefully listening to what patients say are the keys to success here.
The last two specialties, endoscopy and orthopedics, center on finesse. Endoscopy operations ask players to use careful movements and avoid unnecessary harm when feeding the endoscope into patients. Orthopedics also requires delicate hands despite doing things like inserting pins into bones.
Trauma Team is still a ways away from its April 20 release date, but it’s probably in its best interest as there are still a lot of other great games that could possibly overshadow it.
