Following last week’s announcement that four Sonic games would be taken down from the Japanese Virtual Console, a representative for SEGA Europe has confirmed that the removals will only affect Japan. The games will continue to be available on the European Virtual Console.

While the representative said that the decision would only apply to Japan, it’s unclear if they were only speaking for Europe. SEGA America has not yet commented on the situation.
