Rayman Legends Wii U Leaked Trailer Shows Near-Field Communication Use

Category: Uncategorized

A trailer for Rayman Legends, Ubisoft’s follow-up to last year’s Rayman Origins, has leaked out before its intended E3 debut. It showcases the numerous ways the game takes advantage of the Wii U’s unconventional control scheme, including a neat use of the controller’s near-field communication abilities to interact with figures a la Skylanders.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has stated that this is only a demo video and some of the features shown may be cut from the final game.

From Ubisoft’s official statement:

“An internal video showing images of Rayman Origins‘ sequel has leaked over the Internet. This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features.

This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits. Ubisoft confirms the development of Rayman Legends handled by Michel Ancel and his team in Montpellier.”
