Media Create reports that Fire Emblem Awakening has sold 242,600 in its first week, approximately 81.63% of its initial shipment.

The market research firm suggests Awakening‘s success is due in part to it being the first non-remake Fire Emblem to come out since Radiant Dawn for the GameCube in 2007, in addition to receiving some promotion from Nintendo.

The game has been announced from a European release sometime this year. However, nothing has been said about a possible North American launch.
