Monster Hunter XX Switch Details

Capcom put out the first trailer for the Switch version of Monster Hunter XX (Double Cross) and revealed more info on the port during Monster Hunter Championship 2017.

The game will run at 1080p while docked and 720p in handheld mode.

Players with save data from the 3DS version of Monster Hunter XX will be able to freely transfer their data to and from the Switch version via Internet. Monster Hunter X (Generations in the West) data can also be imported, but it cannot be transferred back.

As for multiplayer, the Switch version will support both online and local play for up to four players. Online play will even support multiplayer hunts with 3DS players.

The game will launch on August 25 in Japan. A special edition Switch bundle will be available for ¥36,280. It will include a copy of the game, a Switch and a special Monster Hunter-themed dock.

Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 Coming to 3DS

The latest trailer for Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2: Naruhodō Ryūnosuke no Kakugo, confirms that the sequel to the Japan-only Ace Attorney spin-off will be coming to the 3DS.

Capcom launched a teaser site alongside the trailer, but they did not say anything about a potential release date or price.

The Final Free Monster Hunter Generations DLC Pack is Out

Capcom’s continued support of Monster Hunter Generations, which came in the form of free monthly DLC packs, is coming to an end this month.

January’s pack caters to veteran hunters. There are no special armor or weapon sets to be found, only 15 challenging quests that pit hunters against Furious Rajang, Savage Deviljho and an array of Hyper Monsters.

Additionally, there are also 15 new Guild Card Titles and a new Guild Card Background to redeem.

The bonus content can be accessed through the Download option on the game’s main menu or by talking to your character’s Housekeeper in-game.

Monster Hunter Generations DLC for December is Now Out

This month’s set of free Monster Hunter Generations DLC includes Street Fighter-themed Felyne outfits and gear designed by Square Enix artist Tetsuya Nomura.

Overall, in this month, there are:

  • 15 Quests
    • 8 New weapon rewards
    • 1 New armor reward
    • 3 New Felyne gear sets
  • 12 Guild Card titles
  • 4 Guild Card backgrounds
  • 1 Pet costume
  • 2 Special Palicoes

Get A Free Palico and Items Beginning Today in Monster Hunter Generations

Today may not be the first Friday of the month, but that is not stopping Capcom from giving away more free DLC for Monster Hunter Generations.

Beginning today, players can use the game’s Download menu to receive a free Palico named Hunter that has the Ranged Attack Up skill. They can also get a free item pack that contains the following:

  • 10 Gourmet Vouchers
  • 20 Rare Steak
  • 25 Lagniapples

The string of free bonus content for Monster Hunter Generations continues this month with a bunch of new quests that reward players with weapons and armor based on the Japanese anime and manga Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magi and Baki the Grappler.

This month’s free pack includes:

Monster Hunter XX Coming to 3DS This March

Capcom released the first trailer for Monster Hunter XX (pronounced Double Cross) for the 3DS during a special Japanese Monster Hunter Nintendo Direct today.

The new game will add more monsters, two new Hunting Styles and G-Rank quests. Players will also be able to transfer their data from Monster Hunter Generations (Monster Hunter X). If they have save data from Monster Hunter Stories, they will also receive a special Palico outfit.

Monster Hunter XX launches on March 18 in Japan.

Free Monster Hunter Generations DLC for October

Capcom promised to support Monster Hunter Generations after launch with free monthly DLC and this month they put out several new quests that reward players with gear that let them dress up like Marth from Fire Emblem, Arthur from Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Mega Man.

Capcom Announces The Great Ace Attorney 2

The Meiji-era prequel to the Ace Attorney series, The Great Ace Attorney, is getting a sequel. Capcom released a trailer announcing The Great Ace Attorney 2: Ryunosuke Naruhodo’s Resolution during a celebration of the series’ 15th anniversary at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

The company did not announce a platform or release date.

The first Great Ace Attorney came out for the 3DS on July 9, 2015 in Japan and never received an English localization. Series producer Motohide Eshiro said he would like to bring the game to the West, but “certain circumstances” are preventing him from doing so.

A Monster Hunter Movie Is In the Works

At this year’s at Tokyo Game Show, Monster Hunter executive producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirmed production of a Hollywood film based on the games.

Details on the movie were light, but Tsujimoto did mention that it would focus on the main series and not spin-offs like Monster Hunter Stories.

Capcom’s most recent entry in the series Monster Hunter Generations came out in North America on July 15.
