With Wii U software joining the $60 MSRP club, price cuts and deals are becoming ever more important for the thrifty gamer (who still wants to buy games new).

Luckily, Newegg is currently offering $12 off all pre-orders for games priced more than $49.99, including Wii U titles. All you have to do is enter the promo code EMCJNNH224 at checkout.

Kid Icarus: Uprising is $15 at Best Buy

September 04th, 2012 | Category: Uncategorized

Kid Icarus: Uprising is currently $15 at Best Buy as part of their “Deal of the Day.”

The game is easily one of the best on the 3DS and now there’s practically no excuse to not pick it up. I mean, the soundtrack alone easily reason enough to get it and it beats shelling out more than $50 for the three-disc OST.

Tatsunoko, Dead Rising Wii on Sale in the Capcom Store

March 08th, 2012 | Category: Uncategorized

Capcpom‘s slashing prices on a couple of Wii games in their online store.

Until June 30, you can pick up the underrated and overlooked crossover fighter Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for $11.50. The Arcade Edition bundle, which comes with a TvC-themed FightStick, is also on sale. It’s going for $63.46.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop has been discounted as well. The lackluster “port” of the 360 zombie horde killing simulator is $11.50 until March 31.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is a very solid fighter that was sadly and quickly forgotten in Europe and North America when Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was announced. Still, it’s a great pick-up even if the game’s online community has dwindled.

Devil Suvivor Overclocked Makes Subsequent Playthroughs Easier with “New Game Plus” Style Rewards

August 12th, 2011 | Category: Uncategorized

One of the new features coming to Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked are “survivor awards.” Similar to the Tales series’ “New Game +” bonuses, survivor awards allow you to change things up for repeat playthroughs.

For example, you could choose to start a new game with all the money you collected or change which demons you’ll encounter.

While these bonuses mean absolutely nothing during your first run through the game, how well you play will effect what survivor awards you’ll be able get when the game ends — after every battle, you are evaluated and given points, which are used to buy different survivor awards.

SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked comes out on August 23. If you don’t have a 3DS, you can always pick up the original Devil Survivor, which is still on sale over at Amazon.

Walmart Drops 3DS Price Three Days Early

August 09th, 2011 | Category: Uncategorized

Walmart is letting thrifty gamers have their cake and eat it too. The mega-retailer has dropped the price of the 3DS three days before the price cut is officially supposed to take place, which means anyone who picks up the system today can not only get a 3DS for $170, but they can also qualify for the Ambassador Program’s 20 free games.

It appears that some Walmarts haven’t quite lowered the price of the 3DS, just yet. So, be sure to call your local Walmart if you’re planning to head out and buy one.

Devil Survivor DS is $20.99 on Amazon

August 08th, 2011 | Category: Uncategorized

Amazon is giving people a reason to pick up the original DS Devil Survivor by taking 30 percent off the original price.

It’s still a bit of a hard sell given that the enhanced 3DS port Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is releasing at the end of the month, bringing along a ton of additional features like voice acting and an “8th Day” segment that takes place after the original game’s events.

If you don’t have a 3DS, I highly recommend taking advantage of this deal, as Devil Survivor is one of the best SRPGs to grace the DS.

Discounts and Free Shipping at Fangamer’s Shop This Weekend

July 14th, 2011 | Category: Uncategorized

I’m a big fan of Fangamer, and this weekend is your chance to pick up some great-looking gamer apparel on the cheap.

As part of their “Shipster Sale,” the folks at Fangamer are not only slashing prices on orders greater than $25, they’re also offering free shipping to customers in the U.S.

Unfortunately, due to high production costs (and the fact that they’re both still pre-order only), they are temporarily blocking orders on their Pipe Mug and ♥♪!? products. But, there’s still plenty of other awesome merch for you to blow your money on!

If you need help getting a last-minute presents for your friends and family, Amazon is offering free one-day shipping on select items. Among the expedited items in video games category are Epic Mickey, NBA Jam and DJ Hero 2.

The only restriction is that shipping is limited to the continental U.S. It’s unclear if Alaska is excluded from the promotion. It technically is part of the North American continent.

Hawaii, you’re definitely not included in the one-day extravaganza. You too, U.S. Virgin Islands.
