Nintendo is shutting down the original Flipnote Hatena online community for the DSiWare version of Flipnote Studio on May 31 to focus on maintaining the new community for Flipnote Studio 3D.
Flipnote Studio 3D will be out in the eShop this summer as a free download.
Flipnotes made with the DSi version can be transferred over to Flipnote Studio 3D, but they have to be uploaded to the Flipnote Hatena website first. Flipnotes on the DSi hardware itself cannot be transferred to the 3DS.
If you want to transfer old flipnotes, you must do so before the site no longer accepts uploads at the end of the month.
