The NX is Now the Nintendo Switch

October 20th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

Nintendo officially unveiled their next home console, the Nintendo Switch, which launches this March.

Just as the rumors suggested, the system is a cartridge-based tablet that functions like a console when docked at home, but turns into a portable when removed.

To match the system’s versatility, the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers can adapt to different situations – they can be attached to the sides of the tablet while on the go, connected to the Joy-Con Grip and used as a home controller or even used separately as two individual controllers.

There are no details on hardware specs, but Nvidia confirmed that the Switch will be powered by a custom Tegra processor.

On the newly launched Switch page on Nintendo.com, several third-party developers and publishers, including Capcom, EA, FromSoftware, Level-5, Platinum and Square Enix, have already announced support for the Switch.

Nintendo promises more info, in regards to price, launch titles and demonstrations, will be announced before March.

A Look at the Exclusive Pokémon in Pokémon Sun and Moon

September 20th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

The latest trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon focuses on a few of the new Pokémon exclusive to each version of the game.

Appearing only in Pokémon Sun is Passimian, a Fighting-type with the new ability Receiver, which allows it to inherit the Ability of an ally who faints in battle.

Also exclusive to Sun is the Rockruff evolution Lycanroc Midday Form. The Rock-type wolf is able to learn the move Accelerock, which always hits first.

Oranguru is a Normal- and Psychic-type that will only show up in Pokémon Moon. It is able to learn the move Instruct, which lets the selected target use its most recent move again immediately.

The Pokémon Moon counterpart to Lycanroc Midday Form, Lycanroc Midnight Form is a Rock-type that is able to counter opponent’s moves.

There are also new Z-Moves for Pikachu and Eevee. Pikachu can perform the powerful Catastropika attack, while Eevee calls upon its different evolutions to boost its Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed stats with Extreme Evoboost.

Pokémon Sun and Moon’s UB-02 Expansion Gets A Slight Name Change for the West

September 14th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

The newest trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon confirms that UB-02 Expansion, one of the new Ultra Beasts appearing in the games, will have its name changed to UB-02 Absorption in the English release. The other UB-02, Beauty, will keep its name.

As previously suspected, the two UB-02s will be version exclusives – UB-02 Absorption will appear in Pokémon Sun, while UB-02 Beauty will show up in Pokémon Moon.

The abilities of UB-02 Absorption and UB-02 Beauty are still shrouded in mystery, but Pokemon.com is able to shed a little light on what they are capable of.

“The Ultra Beast known as UB-02 Absorption appears in Pokémon Sun, and the extent of its strength is unknown. Its entire body is covered with bulging, powerful muscles. The full force of a punch powered by these muscles would be off the charts! Its distinctively long mouth is said to be harder than diamonds. Could the Ultra Beast also use it to attack?”

“The Ultra Beast with the codename UB-02 Beauty appears in Pokémon Moon. What kind of power does it possess? Its narrow, graceful legs allow it to accelerate with such explosive speed that people claim it can dodge lightning! It is said that any Pokémon that sees UB-02 Beauty, regardless of its own gender, will become infatuated with it and lose the will to battle. The exact reason for this reaction—whether it’s an unidentified pheromone exuded by UB-02 Beauty or a hypnotic effect induced by its appearance—has not been determined.”

Tons of New Announcements Crammed into the Newest Pokémon Sun and Moon Trailer

September 06th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

The official Pokémon YouTube channel gave everyone their first look at more new Pokémon appearing in Pokémon Sun and Moon.

Type: Null, which happens to actually be a Normal-type, is dubbed the “Synthetic Pokémon.” According to the game’s official website, it was “constructed to synthesize the strengths of various Pokémon, enabling it to adapt to any situation.”

Also announced were Jangmo-o, a new Dragon-type, and Alolan Raticate, the Dark- and Normal-type evolution of Alolan Ratatta.

The trailer also introduced some of the new faces players will meet on their adventure. Lusamine, Faba and Wicke are all members of the Aether Foundation, a new organization dedicated to caring for hurt pokémon and performing various research projects. Also new to the game is Gladion, the enforcer for Team Skull.

It appears that Pokémon Sun and Moon is adding a Pokémon Snap-type mini-game in the Poké Finder, where players can visit certain locations and take pictures of Pokémon in the wild.

The trailer capped things off with a tease of Ultra Beasts, mysterious creatures said to “possess mighty powers and could pose a threat to humans and Pokémon.”

August 18th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

The Official Pokémon Channel on YouTube released a new trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon introducing everyone to Turtonator, who might possibly rival Geodude for the title of “Most 90s Sounding Name.”

The Blast Turtle Pokémon is a Fire- and Dragon-type that has the ability Shell Armor, which prevents it from receiving critical hits. Its unique Shell Trap move allows it to lay a trap at the beginning of a turn. If hit with a physical attack during that turn, Turtonator will counter with a hard-hitting explosion.
