This Week in Games: “It’s Actually the Full Game” Edition

LEGO City Undercover is the sole game heading to retail this week.

Due to some misleading text on the game’s box causing people to think physical copies would require a mandatory download to receive the full game, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment recently issued a statement saying the full game would be available on the Switch game card and downloads would only be needed for optional content updates.

Mario Sports Superstars comes out on the 3DS this Friday.

Taking a page from Mario Sports Mix for the Wii, Superstars brings together five different sports in one package: Golf, Baseball, Tennis, Soccer and Horse Racing.

The Mario Sports Superstars amiibo card series also launches this Friday. Tapping one of these cards into the game lets players recruit powered-up versions of characters.

This Week in Games: “Switch Day” Edition

New hardware launches are always exciting, and after only a few short months since its big reveal, the Switch is finally here.

Because of the system’s launch, the number of games coming out this week are a bit higher than usual. Hoping to not get lost in the shuffle is Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, which comes out for the 3DS this Tuesday.

Not to be forgotten, either. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches on the Wii U this Friday, alongside the Switch version.
