Animal Crossing: New Leaf Free amiibo Update is Out Now

November 02nd, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

At the start of today’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf Nintendo Direct, series producer Hisashi Nogami surprise announced that the game’s big amiibo update is now available to download.

As part of the update, towns get a new RV Campground area, where players can meet special villagers from amiibo cards and figures. By becoming friends with these villagers, players can ask them to move into their town permanently or even receive items, like a Wii U or New 3DS, that unlock the new mini-games Desert Island Escape and Animal Crossing Puzzle League.

There is even non-amiibo content in the new update. Players can now complete daily or weekly tasks called Town Initiatives to earn new Mutual Exchange of Wealth or MEOW Coupons. These coupons can be exchanged for exclusive items at the RV Campground or visiting animals.

Tom Nook also has a new house renovation for sale – a hidden storeroom that players can access from anywhere in their house. Additionally, once it is built, players get the ability to reorganize their furniture with the 3DS touchscreen.

As a bonus for players that have Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, their save data can be linked to New Leaf to unlock 20 giant furniture items that can be purchased in Timmy and Tommy’s store.

This December, Nintendo plans to re-release a physical version of the game, titled Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, that includes the updated content. Also, on December 2, the company will launch the next set of Animal Crossing amiibo cards.
