Rune Factory 4 Shipped More Than 200,000 Units in Japan

Category: Uncategorized

Rune Factory 4 Box JP

Marvelous is celebrating Rune Factory 4‘s achievement of shipping more than 200,000 units (digital and physical) in Japan.

The game is the best-selling entry in the series in its home country, taking the crown from Rune Factory 2.

There are no hard numbers for the North American release, but publisher XSEED Games mentioned a couple of months ago that the game was selling beyond their expectations.

The news is a little bittersweet when you remember that the series’ developer Neverland filed for bankruptcy last November and the European release ended up getting cancelled.

Fortunately, much of the Rune Factory staff have stuck together and are currently working on the sim/RPG Forbidden Magna for the 3DS.

Azure Striker Gunvolt’s Hero Design Changes Again for the West

Category: Uncategorized

Gunvolt Inafune Aizu

Azure Striker Gunvolt is scheduled to hit the 3DS eShop this summer, but apparently, there’s still plenty of time to make changes to the game. Executive Producer Keiji Inafune and Producer Takuya Aizu have agreed to modify Gunvolt’s design again for the West.

So as not to take away what Inafune feels “emphasizes the design,” Gunvolt will keep his braided ponytail in the western release. However, his exposed midriff will remain covered.

The decision appears to have come during a meeting between Inafune and Aizu to discuss Gunvolt‘s release date.

3DS Option Added for Cult County Kickstarter

Category: Uncategorized

Cult County 3DS

Renegade Kid’s survival horror Kickstarter game Cult County is now also coming to the 3DS.

The developers initially said a 3DS version wouldn’t be possible unless they surpassed their pledge goal and received enough to fund the development of a separate game for the handheld. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore as they’ve confirmed that backers will be able to select the 3DS version if they meet their original goal of $580,000.

The Kickstarter is currently sitting at $38,730 with 15 days to go.

Monokuma Conception II

Starting today and continuing over the next few weeks, Atlus will be rolling out both free and paid DLC for Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars.

The DLC ranges from class items and costumes to special boss battles. Among the free DLC are a couple boss battles starring Danganronpa‘s sadistic teddy bear Monokuma. If you ever wanted to give that bear what he deserved (without fear of punishment), the “Monokuma Strikes” and “Monokuma’s Revenge” will come out on May 6 and May 13, respectively.

As a gift to anyone who pre-ordered or picked up the game at launch, Atlus is making the “Disciple Weapon Pack” available for free for the first month. Afterwards, it will become paid DLC.

Wii Classic Controller Pro

Last week, it was reported that Nintendo stopped production of the Wii Classic Controller and Wii Classic Controller Pro. We reached out to the company for an official statement regarding the status of the controllers and they’ve finally responded.

“Thank you for taking the time to contact us. I apologize for the delayed response. For a variety of reasons, we’ve experienced a high volume of emails. I can certainly understand wanting to know more information about the availability of these controllers. Although the Wii Classic Controller is no longer being manufactured or shipped, the Wii Classic Controller Pro is still widely available. Tomodachi Life Takes Up Less Than 450 MB

Category: Uncategorized

The eShop version of Tomodachi Life will be pretty easy on the SD card when it launches on June 6.

Nintendo Life reports that the European version of the game weighs in at only 3,391 blocks, or roughly 434 MB. It’s hardly the smallest game available in the eShop, but it pales in comparison to juggernauts like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate (11,653 blocks/1.5 GB), Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (13,492 blocks/1.7 GB) or Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (14,798 blocks/1.9 GB).
