It’s been a massive day for announcements, and Konami is absolutely cleaning up. Following a spectacular State of Play, the publisher has officially pulled back the curtain on two major projects that Nintendo Switch owners have been eagerly awaiting.

First up, the one we’ve all been waiting for: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is real and it’s coming to both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on August 27th, 2026.

This isn’t just a collection of ports; it’s the collection. The headline act, and the game fans have been begging to see on a Nintendo console for years, is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Konami is confirming this as the “first-ever port” of the legendary PS3 title, and seeing it finally break free from its original hardware is a monumental moment. Joining Solid Snake’s swan song are the beloved PSP classic Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the Game Boy Color cult hit Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel. It’s a fantastic lineup that mixes a core entry, a crucial chapter in the saga, and a deep cut for enthusiasts. Expect the physical edition to be just as desirable as the first volume.

But the surprises didn’t stop there. Konami is also celebrating 40 years of vampire hunting with the announcement of a brand-new 2.5D action game, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.

Set 23 years after the events of Castlevania: Dracula’s Curse (the classic NES title that introduced Alucard), this new adventure looks to capture the spirit of the franchise’s exploration-driven heyday. In a particularly exciting twist, development is being assisted by Evil Empire and Motion Twin, the studios behind the masterpiece Dead Cells and the excellent The Rogue Prince of Persia. If anyone knows how to blend tight, responsive action with the satisfying loop of discovery, it’s this team. It’s heading to Switch and other platforms, and if it captures even a fraction of the Dead Cells magic within the Castlevania universe, we’re in for a treat.

It’s a great time to be a Konami fan on a Nintendo system. What are you more excited for, sneaking through the Metal Gear Solid 4 story or tearing through monsters in a new Castlevania? Let us know in the comments!
