Animal Crossing has been around for 25 years. That's a long time for a game about doing chores at your own pace to stay relevant — and yet here we are, Nintendo still quietly patching New Horizons in 2026.
Version 3.0.2 landed on April 13th and it's a nice little celebration. Log in and you'll find a Leaf Statue sitting in your mailbox — it's got a soft green glow to it, apparently looking especially good at night. Small thing, but that's kind of what Animal Crossing is all about.
There are bug fixes too, covering things like hotel guest room exits, crafting ingredient checks, dung beetle placement (classic), and some custom design uploading issues. Nothing dramatic, just the kind of quiet housekeeping that keeps the game feeling looked after.
The bigger treat might be on Nintendo Music, where Nintendo has dropped 158 songs from the original GameCube Animal Crossing soundtrack. If you've never heard those original tracks, they're absolutely worth a listen — there's a reason people have been nostalgic about them for two decades.
