Pragmata Sold a Million Copies in Two Days and It Absolutely Deserves It

Pragmata launched on 17th April and it took less than 48 hours to crack a million sales. Capcom has credited the game's free demo and its Switch 2 release as the two things that really drove momentum — and yeah, that tracks.

For anyone who hasn't been following it: Pragmata is an original Capcom IP set in a lunar research facility. You play as Hugh, paired with an android companion called Diana, and the two of you have to fight and puzzle your way through the place together. Nintendo Life gave it 9/10 and called it "a dazzling puzzle-shooter driven by a heartfelt friendship." That's high praise, and from what people have been saying, it's earned.

It's genuinely nice to see a new IP land with this kind of impact — especially one that isn't a sequel, spin-off, or franchise reboot. Capcom took a swing with something original and it clearly connected with people.

If you're on the fence, there's still a demo available. It won't take you long to know whether it's your thing.
