There's a tradition with James Bond that the opening title sequence tells you immediately whether you're in good hands. And if the song that kicks off IO Interactive's 007 First Light is any indication, we might be in for something genuinely special.
Lana Del Rey has released "First Light," the official theme for the game, and it is exactly what you'd hope for — sweeping, orchestral, and dripping with that languid Del Rey energy that makes everything sound like a cinematic moment. She co-wrote it with David Arnold, who scored Casino Royale and Tomorrow Never Dies among others, so the Bond DNA is firmly in place.
The song is out now on streaming platforms, well ahead of the game itself, which is coming from IO Interactive (the folks behind the Hitman World of Assassination trilogy) on May 27th. It'll be landing on Switch as well as other platforms.
Honestly, this is a move that makes the wait for the game feel a bit more bearable. Give it a listen and try not to hum it for the rest of the week.
