Right, let’s talk rumours — because there are a lot of them at the moment, and some of them are very spicy.
Multiple outlets citing credible insider sources are reporting that Nintendo has two major Switch 2 titles in the pipeline for 2026: a brand new Star Fox game, and a full remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
The Star Fox news is particularly exciting — described as a “classic style” game with online multiplayer. No 3D open-world reinvention, just proper barrel rolls and Peppy reminding you to do a barrel roll. Summer 2026 is the rumoured window.
As for Ocarina of Time, the timing makes sense — it would coincide with Zelda’s 40th anniversary later this year. Late 2026 is where the whispers are pointing.
Nintendo hasn’t confirmed any of this. The same sources say there’s no new 3D Mario this year (2027, apparently). But if even one of these lands, it’s massive.
