Another classic gets a second life on Switch 2. HAMSTER dropped Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom into the Console Archives series on April 23rd, meaning the NES trilogy is now fully represented on Nintendo's latest hardware.

The Ancient Ship of Doom is the odd one out of the three — originally released in Japan in 1991, it was the last to make it to North America, and it has a bit of a reputation for being brutally difficult even by NES standards. Which, given how punishing the first two games are, tells you something.

If you're a fan of the series or just want to subject yourself to some genuinely savage old-school action gaming, it's a solid addition to the Console Archives catalogue. These titles tend to be pretty affordable too, so there's not much to lose.
